Lydia Seabol and Steve Robinson, nominated by the Rotary Club of Tuscaloosa, were selected October 23 by the District GSE Committee to participate next spring in the Group Study Exchange with District 2290 in Norway.
Lydia is a reporter for The Tuscaloosa News and Steve is assistant registrar at the University of Alabama. Team leader will be Rotarian Jim Hammond, assistant district governor and past president of the Arab Rotary Club.
Rotarian Mark Nelson, who chairs the club GSE Committee and is a member of the district committee, said choosing team members from among the nominees was challenging. Everyone interviewed would have been a fantastic team member, he said. This could be one of the best teams and team leaders that we have ever had.
The GSE team will be hosted in Norway for four weeks, from May 10 to June 9, 2006. The counterpart team from Norway will be in Alabama from March 26 to April 25.
