Candace S. Peters

Program Assistant


Candace S. Peters joined the Blackburn Institute’s staff in the Fall of 2008 as Program Assistant. She is responsible for a majority of the Institute’s business, financial, and administrative affairs, as well as assisting in program development and planning. Candace considers Montgomery, Alabama, to be home, but has lived in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas. In 1996, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Mobile in Mobile, Alabama, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Sociology. While a student at the University of Mobile, she served as Vice President of the Student Government Association and President of the Student Admissions Representatives. Candace joins the Institute’s staff with years of experience in the field of administration and financial affairs. Most recently, she served as the Administrative Assistant for the Vice President for Business Affairs at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Candace is married to the Reverend Scott Peters who serves as the Associate Pastor of Student Education at Taylorville Baptist Church; they have one daughter, Madilyn Hope, who enjoys going to school as well as playing basketball and soccer.
