Caroline Androski-Baird An attorney at the firm Androski, Androski, Androski & Androski in Ansonia, Connecticut. Her practice consists of mostly criminal law, family and divorce law, and real estate law. Caroline is married to Robert William Baird and lives in Derby, Connecticut. The couple has three children, Grace, Lily and Robbie. Caroline still practices law part time at her family's law firm in Ansonia, Connecticut in the areas of criminal, juvenile and family law.
D. Scott Batey Graduated in 1996 from UA's School of Social Work with a Master's degree in Social Work. Scott was the recipient of the Outstanding Service by a Graduate Student Award, which was awarded based on his exceptional community service, volunteerism, and civic activities. He is credentialed as a Licensed Certified Social Worker and Private Independent Practitioner with the State of Alabama.He is currently enrolled in the doctoral program in Social Work at UA. His home is in Pell City, AL.
Alan Bivens
Artis Brown Artis graduated from the University of Alabama in May 1996 with an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering. He was hired by Exxon as a Project Engineer in Houston. He relocated to Richmond, VA, and then to Memphis, TN, where he received his MBA in Finance. After holding several marketing positions in Fairfax, VA, and Boston, MA, Artis moved back to Fairfax for his current assignment as the Global Recruiting Coordinator for ExxonMobil's Fuels Marketing organization. Artis currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
Brian W. Carver Brian graduated from UA in 1996 with a B.A. (cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa) in philosophy; he then went on to earn a Master’s degree in philosophy from the University of California, Irvine. He received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2006 and then worked as an associate with the law firm of Fenwick & West, LLP in San Francisco, where his practice focused on copyright, trade secret, trademark, and complex commercial litigation. In Fall 2008, he accepted a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor at the University of California at Berkeley's School of Information. His research and teaching are focused on copyright law. Brian and his wife, Jacqueline Asher, welcomed the birth of their daughter Cora in April of 2005 and their son, Freal, in June of 2008.
Marie Dick
Mohamed "Mo" Elwany Mo is an immigrant from Cairo, Egypt. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1997 with a BA in Public Relations and in 1999 with a Master's in Business Administration (MBA). He was also a UA varsity athlete as part of UA's tennis team. Mo is a Certified Internal Auditor and currenty serves as Global Manager of Audit and Compliance at Marvell Semiconductor Inc. Mo was married to Doaa (DOWA) Elwany in 2005. Doaa is a graduate of the University of Cairo, Egypt. She currently serves as Director of Marketing and Communications at Stanford University. Mo and Doaa currently live in Silicon Valley, California. They relocated from Huntsville, AL to Silicon Valley, CA in 2006.
Greg Foster A 1994-95 Blackburn Fellow, Greg graduated from the University of Alabama in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in International Finance and a minor in Spanish. In 1997, Greg graduated from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government with a Master in Public Policy (MPP) and a concentration in International Trade and Financial Policy. He then worked in Latin America and the Caribbean for Masonite International, the world's largest door manufacturer, until 2004, as their Director of Sales and Marketing for the region. Also, Greg has served as an adjunct instructor in the University of Alabama's College of Commerce and Business Administration for classes in International Financial Management and Economics. In 2002, Greg ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic nomination for State Treasurer. On January 24, 2004 Greg joined the Blackburn Institute Advisory Board. He is currently completing his third year of law school at the University of Alabama and lives in Birmingham with his wife, Julie Schilleci-Foster, who is a deputy district attorney for Jefferson County, and their 22 month old daughter, Anna Bella.
Kristinn Gretarsson
John Hogue, Jr. Graduated from the University of Alabama in 1996 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. In 1998 he received his MBA from the Manderson Graduate School of Business at the Capstone. He is presently employed at AIG Baker Shopping Center Properties, L.L.C.,where he is a developer. He married Meredy Beste in 2000 and they have two sons.
Eduardo Hope Jr. Currently lives in Madrid, Spain.
Brian Jackson Lives in Columbus, Ohio.
Rustee Karolyi Lives in Stewartsville, New Jersey.

Eric King
Emily Fogarty Mangual Graduated from the University of Alabama in 1995 with a B.A. in English and Spanish. Emily then attended one year of Law School at Alabama, but then decided to start a family - Emily says, "I liked motherhood so much that I decided to it full-time." Juan and Emily now have five children, Mary, Natalie, Julia, John, and Kate. Mary was born in 1997 and Natalie in 2000. The others followed every other year. Juan and Emily live in the Dayton, Ohio area in Springboro. Juan graduated from Notre Dame in 1993 with a B.S. in Engineering. While he worked for MeadWestvaco, he earned an M.B.A. He now works for Appleton Papers. Emily currently volunteers at her children's school, their parrish, and as a Daisy Girl Scout leader, but now that their daughter Julia has cancer, her treatment receives top priority.

Semoine McCray
Melissa Tucker Medlin Since completing her MA in 1996, Melissa Tucker Medlin has developed her career in Higher Education Administration within Career Services. After spending 11 years as a student affairs professional at The University (in both the Career Center and Dean of Students Office), Melissa is now the Director of Career Planning and Development at the University of North Alabama in Florence. Her family relocated to the Shoals area (near Melissa's home of Russellville) in July, 2008. "I am excited to have the opportunity to work directly with students as they make their choices about careers and work while also developing my own skills as a Student Affairs Administrator. I consider it an honor to assist students in recognizing their true potential and the many skills which they possess that will contribute to them being successful," says Medlin. Though she is not on campus locally, Melissa plans to continue her service to the Alumni Networking Board for the Blackburn Institute reminding fellows from the early years of the great valuable of Blackburn Institute membership. She and her husband, James Medlin, have two children, Tucker (7) and Heather (4). Melissa and her family enjoy spending time together in church, school and community activities and are excited to be closer to their extended family with the recent move.

Michele Fosket Paolini Graduated from the University of Alabama with a Master's in Communication in 1995. She Lives in San Francisco, California where she and her husband own The Melting Pot in Union Square (opening Summer 2006). Michele works for the restaurant as the Director of Marketing and spends the rest of her time raising her son, Mariano. Scott Powell Scott joined St. Vincent’s hospital in Birmingham in November of 2004 as Director of Development for St. Vincent’s Foundation. He conducts major gift fundraising on behalf of the hospital.
Lee Pruitt Received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UA in 1996. He currently lives in Huntsville, where he has worked as a Systems Engineer for Northrop Grumman Corp. since 1996. While at the University of Alabama, Lee served as Chairman of the SGA Constitutional Convention, Vice President of the Mallet Assembly, and President of the Alabama Conservative Student Union.
Mallory Ann Hayes Rottinghaus Home schooling mom and Latin teacher, Birmingham, Alabama.
Catherine Skinner Graduated from The University of Alabama School of Medicine. Dr. Skinner finished her residency in family medicine in Tuscaloosa and her fellowship in obstetrics in Austin, TX. She currently practices medicine in Carrollton, AL (Pickens County) and in Tuscaloosa. She currently teaches as an adjunct faculty member for the UA College of Community Health Sciences. Catherine is married to Shannon Skinner (a home builder in Tuscaloosa), and they have two children: Meghan (8 yrs) and Tyler (2 yrs).

SGT. Kenney Washington Attended law school and was three classes shy of earning his Master’s degree in Education when his military unit was activated. Kenny is now serving in the Criminal Investigative Division for Fort Campbell, KY. Kenney also has a 4-year-old daughter. Kenney sends his best to all of those involved with the Blackburn Institute.
